The Origin or Core from which something develops

MATRIZ

The framework that puts accountability, diversity, and human oversight at the centre of AI adoption.

One of the biggest problems I encounter when speaking with businesses and CEOs is that they do not know how to get started with AI adoption. The most common experience is that they give a few licences to their employees and assume the process is complete. Then comes the dreadful sense of overwhelm: clients asking for their AI policy, the EU AI Act requiring compliance, employees asking for proper training, and nobody quite sure who is responsible for any of it.

I created MATRIZ with that in mind. A simple, step by step framework that guides organisations through introducing AI in a way that makes sense, keeps people at the centre, ensures legal and data compliance, and measures whether AI is actually delivering any benefit.

MATRIZ is not a technical tool. It is a governance structure. And it is built for the organisations that want to get this right before something goes wrong.

  • After introducing MATRIZ into your business, you will be able to answer the following questions:
  • Do you have an AI policy?
  • Are you complying with the EU AI Act?
  • Which models and tools should your organisation be using, and which should you avoid?
  • Are your employees prepared to use AI safely and effectively?
  • Do you know what data your employees are sharing with AI systems?
  • Are some teams using AI confidently while others feel left behind?
  • Is AI actually providing measurable benefit to your organisation, or are you spending without knowing the return?
  • Who is responsible if something goes wrong while using AI?
  • If an AI tool made a decision that harmed a client, would you know what happened and why?

What Ungoverned AI Actually Costs Your Business

The problem with not knowing is that anything can go wrong, and you may not find out until it is too late.

That is what is happening right now with AI adoption. Enterprise businesses rushed the introduction of AI into their organisations, reducing human oversight in the process, only to find out that the adoption is not working as expected. Not everyone is adopting equally. Some employees are using tools nobody approved. Others feel left behind entirely. And when AI starts making mistakes, there is nobody watching to catch them.

The consequences are already playing out publicly. A Big Four consulting firm had to issue a refund to the Australian government after an AI-assisted report was found to contain significant errors. Not a technology failure. A governance failure. The tool worked exactly as it was designed to. The problem was that nobody had built the human oversight to question it.

The risk does not stop there. A recent Anthropic study found that polished AI output makes users less likely to check for errors. The better AI looks, the less we scrutinise it. Which means the more you adopt, the more exposed you become, unless you have a structure in place.

The EU AI Act was introduced to address some of these issues and will soon be mandatory for organisations operating in Europe. It provides a legislative framework for safe and accountable AI adoption. But compliance is a floor, not a ceiling. Knowing what the law requires is the starting point. Knowing what good actually looks like is what protects your organisation, your people, and your clients.

That is what MATRIZ is built for.

THE SOLUTION

AI adoption starts with leadership intent and a culture that treats AI as augmentation, not replacement.

Before implementing AI, organisations must understand their workflows, people readiness, and where value is created or lost.

Successful AI adoption begins with carefully selected
pilots that are relevant, low-risk, and measurable.

AI must be governed with diverse teams, human
oversight, ethical safeguards, and accountability at every
stage.

AI delivers impact only when embedded into daily
workflows with clear ownership, approved tools, and
review cycles.

The real measure of AI success is whether it improves
efficiency, reliability, brand presence, and financial return.

DIVERSITY AT THE CENTER OF IT

What makes MATRIZ different from any other AI adoption framework is not that it is simple and structured, though it is both of those things. What makes it different is that diversity is at the centre of it.

Because having a framework is not enough if you do not bring everyone along with it. Imagine putting every step in place and then discovering that, for different reasons, not everyone in your organisation is actually getting involved in the adoption. You may have the strategy. But if people are not engaged, it will not work.

And diversity is not just about inclusion for its own sake. It makes your adoption stronger. Having people from different backgrounds, genders, and experiences using and reviewing your AI tools creates a safety net you cannot build any other way. What one person misses, someone else will catch. What feels neutral to one team may carry assumptions another team would immediately question. Bias does not get challenged by people who all think the same way.

This is not a nice to have. It is a quality control mechanism.

The organisations that will get AI adoption right are not necessarily the ones with the biggest budgets or the most advanced tools. They are the ones that made sure everyone had a seat at the table when the decisions were being made.
